Getting started with Video & Movie Compressor

The Video & Movie Compressor app enables you to reduce the size of a video without compromising its quality. To utilize this feature, follow these instructions:

  1. Tap the "PICK A VIDEO" button on the app's home page.
  2. Select the video that you want to compress.
  3. Choose your preferred compression method.
  4. Tap the "START" button to initiate the compression process.

Size compression

One of Video & Movie Compressor's compression methods is Size Compression. With this method, you can compress your video by specifying the preferred size by inputting a specific size or adjusting the output percentage.

To compress your video using this method, follow these steps:

  1. Tap the "PICK A VIDEO" button on the app's home page.
  2. Select the video you want to compress.
  3. Tap the "Size" button.
  4. Input the preferred size or use the slider to adjust the output size percentage.
  5. Tap the "START" button to begin the compression process.
  6. Wait for the process to complete.
  7. To close the dialog, tap "Dismiss." To view the compressed video output, tap "Open.

Custom compression

In addition to the Size Compression method, Video & Movie Compressor offers Custom Compression, which allows you to customize the compression settings, such as the resolution, quality, FPS limit, super compression, audio, and video trim. This method provides more flexibility in determining the output quality.

To begin a custom compression, follow these steps:

    1. Tap the "PICK A VIDEO" button on the app's home page.
    2. Select the video you wish to compress.
    3. Tap the "Custom" button.
    4. Set the preferred resolution or quality by tapping their respective buttons. Using the switch buttons, you can toggle the FPS limit and super compression on or off.
    5. Once satisfied with the settings, tap the "START" button.
    6. Wait for the compression process to complete.
    7. To close the dialog, tap "Dismiss." To view the compressed video output, tap "Open."

Rename video output title

Video & Movie Compressor's custom compression method enables you to rename the video output title before initiating the compression process.

To rename the output title, follow these steps:

  1. Tap the "PICK A VIDEO" button on the app's home page.
  2. Select the video you want to compress.
  3. Tap the "Custom" button.
  4. Tap the "Output Name" field and enter your preferred title for the output.
  5. Tap the "START" button to begin the compression process.

Once the process is complete, the video output will be renamed according to the title you specified.

Changing resolution

Video resolution refers to the number of pixels in each frame, determined by its width and height. Increasing the resolution improves video clarity, but it also significantly increases the file size. However, lower resolutions are usually less noticeable on smaller or low-resolution screens. This is the best way to reduce video size.

To change the resolution of the output video, follow these steps.

  1. Tap the "PICK A VIDEO" button on the app's home page.
  2. Select the video you want to compress.
  3. Tap the "Custom" button.
  4. Tap the resolution button.
  5. On the resolution page, you can choose the preset resolution or change it by dragging the slider or typing the preferred resolution in the input field.
  6. Tap "DONE" to save the settings.

Changing quality

To set a specific video output quality, follow these steps:

    1. Tap the "PICK A VIDEO" button on the app's home page.
    2. Select the video you want to compress.
    3. Tap the "Custom" button.
    4. Tap the "Video Quality" button.
    5. Select a quality option by tapping it.
    6. Tap the "START" button to begin the compression process.

Trimming video

To trim a video before compressing it using the Video & Movie compressor's custom compression method, follow these steps:

  1. Tap the 'PICK A VIDEO' button on the app's home page.
  2. Select the video you want to compress.
  3. Tap the 'Custom' button.
  4. On the video thumbnail screen, drag the left or right thumb to the preferred timestamp to trim the video to your desired length.
  5. After trimming the video to your desired length, tap the 'START' button to begin the compression process.

Disabling audio

To compress a video without its audio using the Video & Movie compressor's custom compression method, follow these steps:

    1. Tap the 'PICK A VIDEO' button on the app's home page.
    2. Select the video you want to compress.
    3. Tap the 'Custom' button.
    4. On the video playback screen top-right corner, toggle the audio on and off button by tapping it.
    5. Tap the 'START' button to begin the compression process.

Enabling or disabling FPS limit
  1. Open the app and tap the home page's 'PICK A VIDEO' button.
  2. Select the video you want to compress.
  3. Tap the 'Custom' button.
  4. Tap the 'FPS limit' switch. By default, this option is enabled. If you don't want to limit the FPS, tap the button again to disable the switch.
  5. Tap the 'START' button to begin the compression process.

Following these steps will limit the FPS in your video using a custom compression method, which can help reduce the video size while sacrificing some video smoothness.

  4. Look for Super Compression and tap the toggle button to enable it.

Where is the compressed video output stored?

After compressing a video, the output is stored in your device's storage folder under the 'Movies' directory. To locate the compressed videos, navigate to the 'VideosCompressor' folder within the 'Movies' directory. Inside the 'VideosCompressor' folder, you will find all the videos compressed using the Videos & Movies Compressor.

Supported video output file type

Videos & Movies Compressor video output is saved as .mp4. MP4 is the most common, widely supported, and high-quality video format. With the MP4 format, you can also play it on most video players. 

Data removal

Video & Movie Compressor collects anonymous data, like when your app crashes, that we use to improve the app across a wide array of devices. We also use your advertising identifier to serve your ads.

Disable anonymous usage data and personalized ads.

  1. Open the main menu in the top-left.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Data Privacy.
  4. Disable Personalized ads and Anonymous usage data.

Delete your device's data:

  1. Usually, you can simply uninstall Video & Movie Compressor from your Android or iOS device, which automatically clears app data.
  2. If you've enabled an app backup system inside your device's settings, you may need to manually clear your app data from Android or iOS.
