Get started with Coupled

New to Coupled? Here are some simple steps to help you set up the app.

1. Upon opening the Coupled after installation, the app will direct you to the Sign-up page.

2. Tap the Sign-up button to create an account.

3. Input the required fields and tap the Sign up button after.

4. You need to input your partner's code, or you can send your code to your partner.

5. Once you have entered your partner's code, tap the Connect button.

Note: Make sure your partner accepts the invitation after you tap the Connect button.

6. After successfully connected to your partner's account, you can now start adding more information to your shared Coupled app.

Set up Coupled details.

After creating an account, you can start adding your special dates and profile pictures on Coupled.

1. On the Home page, tap the Setup button.

2. The app will direct you to the Setup page Home tab. You can type the Heading title on this page, change the event you want to track, change the tracker mode, change the display background, and change the background darkness.

3. Save the Heading title by tapping the save button on the right side of the field.

Note: After saving the heading title, it will be shown on the Home page display.

4. After saving the Heading title and other settings on the home tab, you can go to the Shared tab by tapping it.

5. On the Shared tab, you can make your special dates. Tap the date to change it. To change the time, tap the clock button on the right side of the date field.

6. To add more special dates, tap the add button located on the bottom-center of the page.

Note: You will be able to see your special dates on the Events page.

7. To add more details about you and your partner, tap the profile tabs. On this tab, you can add your birthdays and change your profile picture.

Do I need to set up a account with you?

Yes, it is important to create an account to be able to use Coupled.

Change a profile picture.

1. Tap the main menu button located on the top-left corner of the Coupled screen.

2. Tap the name or the profile picture that you can see on the top part of the drawer. Note: If you didn’t set up any profile picture yet, you would be able to see a colored background with your name on it.

3. This will open your profile tab. Tap the profile picture on the circle. Note: If you didn’t set up any profile picture yet, you would be able to see a colored circle with your initials on it.

4. Choose which options you are going to use to get your picture.

5. Once you’ve chosen the option to get your picture, tap the image you wanted to use. This will update your profile picture automatically.

Add multiple special dates.

1. Tap the main menu button located on the top-left corner of the Coupled screen.

2. Tap the Setup option.

3. On the setup page, go to the Shared tab.

4. Tap the Add button located at the bottom center of the screen.

5. Type the title of your Special date.

6. Change the date and time.

7. Optional: Change the repeat option from never to daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly.

Note: Special date will repeat accordingly when you will add a  repeat option. This will also reflect on the event calendar.

8. Tap the save button located on the top-right corner of the screen to save the changes.

1. Tap the main menu button located on the top-left corner of the Coupled screen.

2. Tap the Setup option.

3. On the Home tab, tap the Heading field to change the title.

4. Tap the save button that appears on the right corner of the heading field.

3. On the Home tab, tap the Tracker Mode dropdown menu.

4. Choose the tracker mode option.

Note: Taping the tracker mode option you want will save the changes automatically. You can also disable the decimal option by unticking the Decimal tick box.

3. On the Home tab, tap the Background picture.

4. Choose which options you are going to use to get your picture.

5. Choose an image.

3. On the Home tab, scroll down to the bottom and look for the display tint setting.

4. Slide the slider from left or right to choose the tint setting of your liking.

5. Tap the save button that appears on the right side of the slider to save the changes.

1. Tap the main menu button located on the top-left corner of the Coupled screen.

2. Tap the Preferences option.

3. Look for the Theme option and tap it.

4. Choose the theme color of your liking.

Note: The theme saves automatically when tapping a color.

1. Tap the main menu button located on the top-left corner of the Coupled screen.

2. Tap the Preferences option.

3. Look for the Theme option and tap it.

4. Tap the Custom button.

5. Change the Primary and Secondary colors by tapping them.

6. To pick a color, you can slide or tap the color that you want around the circle. You can also slide the slider button to change the color's contrast.

7. Tap the Apply button to save the chosen color.

8. Tap the save button to save all the changes.

Send chat messages.

2. Type your message.

3. Tap the Send button.

4. After tapping the send button, it will send the message to your partner's Coupled account.

Attach a voice chat.

2. Tap the Audio Record button.

3. Record your audio attachment.

Note: Audio recording starts as soon as you tap the audio record button.

4. Tap the Send button to send the audio recording to your partner.

Send an image and video from your device.

1. Tap the Chats tab or slide the Coupled screen to start using the chat feature.

2. Tap the media attachment button.

3. There will be multiple options to choose where you can get your image and video attachment. You can choose to attach the image and video from your phone image gallery, video gallery, or directly take a picture, or record a video using your phone camera.

4. Once you've chosen which option you're going to use, you can start choosing an image or video.

5. Tap the image that you want to send.

3. Choose an album.

4. Pick the image or video that you want to send. Tapping the image or video will send it to the chats automatically.

Send a sticker or emojis

 

1. Tap the Chats tab or slide the Coupled screen to start using the chat feature.

2. Tap the emoji button.

3. For the user's first time using the stickers, download the free sticker set to use it.

4. Tap the sticker that you like to send. Tapping it will automatically be sent to your partner.

5. For sending emojis, tap the Emoji button at the bottom right part next to the Sticker button.

6. Choose the emojis you'd like to use by tapping them.

Delete a chat

1. Tap the Chats tab or slide the Coupled screen to start using the chat feature.

2. Tap and hold the message that you want to delete until the action menu appears.

3. Tap the Delete button.

Note: Deleting a message will delete the message on both you and your partner's device.

Reply to a specific chat

2. Tap and hold the message that you want to reply to until the action menu appears.

3. Tap the Reply button.

4. You can start typing your reply.

5. Tap the Send button to send it.

How to know that my partner sees my messages?

1. Tap the Chats tab or slide the Coupled screen to start using the chat feature.

2. On the chat messages, you will be able to see the chat receipt icon. You will see a check icon if your message has been sent; this means that your partner hasn't been able to read it yet. A double-check icon will appear if your partner has been able to read it already.

How to use Coupled call or video call?

There are two ways to access the call and video call page. 

1. The first one is to tap your partner's profile; it is located on the top-right part of the Coupled screen.

2. This will show you your partner's profile with the call and video call option.

3. Tap the call or video call button to start calling.

2. Tap the Coupled Call.

Add an album.

1. Tap the Album tab or slide the Coupled screen to start using the chat feature.

2. Tap the Add button that is located at the bottom center of the page.

3. Enter the Album name.

4. To finish, tap the save button.

2. Choose the album that you want to delete.

3. Press and hold the album until the album is selected.

4. On the bottom-right corner of the page, you will see the trash button. Tap it.

5. Confirm the action.

Rename an album.

2. Choose the album that you want to rename.

3. Press and hold the album until the album is selected.

4. On the bottom-right corner of the page, you will see the rename button next to the trash button. Tap it.

5. Enter the new album title and tap Rename.

Is it required to upload files on the Coupled app?

Uploading files like images, videos, etc., on the Coupled app is NOT required. It is optional, and the user can decide whether to upload files. Users also have complete control over the uploaded files. They can delete it anytime. 

Deleted files do not sit through in our system or database. Once you delete your files, the system will also delete them from our database, and we don't have any way to recover them. Keeping deleted user files is illegal, and we are strictly following this data privacy regulation.

Add photos and videos to the album.

1. Tap the Album tab or slide the Coupled screen to start using the chat feature.

2. Tap the album where you want to save the images or videos.

3. Tap the upload button located at the bottom center of the page.

4. Choose the option where you want to get the image or video.

5. Choose the images or videos that you want to upload.

Note: Only 10 images can be upload at a time. You can add more later on.

6. Tap the save button.

7. The images or videos will start to get uploaded to the album. You will be able to see the progress.

Note: Upload speed may vary depending on your internet speed and the images or video size you're uploading.

Delete a photo or a video in an album.

1. Tap the Album tab or slide the Coupled screen to start using the chat feature.

2. Tap the album where you saved the photo or video that you want to delete.

3. Press and hold the image or video that you want to delete.

4. After selecting the image(s) or video(s), tap the trash button located at the top-right side of the page.

5. Confirm the action.

Note: You can tap more items to delete more images at the same time.

Move a photo or a video into another album.

1. Tap the Album tab or slide the Coupled screen to start using the chat feature.

2. Tap the album where you saved the photo or video that you want to move.

3. Press and hold the image or video that you want to move.

4. After selecting the image(s) or video(s), tap the album button located at the top-right side of the page.

5. Select the album where you want to move the image(s) or video(s).

Why can't I add images or videos to the album?

There are various reasons why you can't be able to add images or videos to the album. The first reason is that you don't have any access to the internet or your internet connection is not stable. Using Coupled requires an internet connection. You need to make sure you're connected to the internet or have a stable connection to add images and videos.

The second reason is that you don't have enough space on your Coupled cloud storage. Free users get up to 0.5GB of cloud storage. This will upgrade your storage up to 16GB. To add more storage, you can buy the premium bundle.

Add a task.

1. Tap the Tasks tab or slide the Coupled screen to go to Tasks.

2. Tap the Add button located at the bottom center of the page.

3. Add the description and other details of the task.

4. Choose a task color.

5. Tap the save button located at the top-right corner of the page to save the task.

Assign a task.

1. Tap the Tasks tab or slide the Coupled screen to go to Tasks.

2. Tap the task that you want to be assigned or create a new one.

3. Look for the Assigned To field and tap it. By default, tasks are assigned to anyone if you haven't set them.

4. Choose who you want to assign it to.

5. Tap the save button located at the top-right corner of the page to save the changes.

6. After saving the changes, you will see the profile of the person who is assigned to this task.

Change task progress.

1. Tap the Tasks tab or slide the Coupled screen to go to Tasks.

2. Tap the task that you want to change the progress or create a new one.

3. Look for the Progress field and tap it.

4. Choose the progress options.

5. Tap the save button located at the top-right corner of the page to save the changes.

Add checklist on the task.

1. Tap the Tasks tab or slide the Coupled screen to go to Tasks.

2. Tap the task that you want to add a checklist item or create a new one.

3. Look for the + Add Item and tap it.

4. Write down the item name and hit OK to add it.

5. To add more items, tap the + Add Item again. Keep doing this until you wrote down all the items that you want to add.

6. Tap the save button located at the top-right corner of the page to save the changes.

Remove items from the task checklist.

1. Tap the Tasks tab or slide the Coupled screen to go to Tasks.

2. Tap the task you want the items to be deleted on the checklist.

3. Tap the item(s) that you want to delete. Tapping the existing item will remove them automatically.

4. Tap the save button located at the top-right corner of the page to save the changes.

Add an event.

2. Tap the date where you want to add an event.

4. Type the event title.

5. By default, events are set at 8:00 am. Tap the clock icon to change the time.

6. Optional: Choose event colors.

7. Tap the save button located at the top-right corner of the page to save the changes.

Delete an event.

2. Choose the existing event that you want to delete and tap it.

3. Choose the event on that day that you want to delete by tapping it.

4. Tap the trash button located on the top-right corner of the page before the save button to delete the task.

5. Confirm the action.

Edit an event.

1. Tap the Events tab or slide the Coupled screen to go to Events.

2. Choose the existing event that you want to edit and tap it.

3. Choose the event on that day that you want to edit by tapping it.

4. After opening the event that you want to edit, you can now change the details of this event.

5. Tap the save button located at the top-right corner of the page to save the changes.

Can I open my account in to a new device?

Yes, Coupled is an internet-based application. It means that you can access your Coupled account to any device as long as you installed the Coupled app in it and you have a stable internet connection.

Delete Coupled account.

Deleting your Coupled account means that you are deleting all your data on our server. Per data protection policies, we do not retain any data after an account is deleted. Make sure to confirm your actions before doing this.

1. Open the main menu in the top-left.

2. Look for the Account option and tap it.

3. Tap the Delete Couple option.

4. Confirm your action.

5. Afterwards, sign into the app, and before connecting to a partner tap on the Delete Account.

6. Enter your password and tap the Yes, Delete button.

Note: Doing this will delete your and your partner's data permanently.

Is Coupled Premium a single purchase or a subscription?

Coupled premium is a single purchase. Single purchase means that we only ask for payment once, and both of you and your partner are entitled to have a Coupled premium.

What do I get with Coupled Premium?

When you get the Coupled premium, you are entitled to have the following features.

1. Single Purchase - You and your partner get the Coupled Premium.

2. More Cloud Storage - from 0.5GB of cloud storage, it will increase to 16GB. More cloud storage means that you can save more photos and videos to your album. You can also save more data, like events, tasks, and chats.

3. Video Calls - You will unlock the video call feature, making your communication with your partner much better.

4. No Ads - Coupled premium will remove all advertisements.

5. More themes - Each of you can set your own color scheme and theme for the app.

All future premium features will automatically unlock when you get the Coupled premium.

How do I purchase Coupled Premium?

1. Open the main menu button located on the top-left corner of the Home page.

2. Go to the Coupled Premium page

3. Tap the buy button located at the bottom center of the page.

4. On the Google play payment, tap the payment method to change it.

5. After you change the payment method, tap the Google play Buy button.

Restore Coupled Premium Account.

1. Open the main menu button located on the top-left corner of the Home page.

2. Go to the Coupled Premium page.

3. Tap the restore button located at the top-right corner of the page.

4. After that, tap the Find button. 

Note: Coupled will look for any purchases made on Google Play for the Google Account that is currently signed into your device and/or Google Play. Purchases can be synced to your Coupled account to restore your Premium status. This may take some time.

How to stop notifications?

1. Open the main menu button located on the top-left corner of the Home page.

2. Tap the Preferences option.

3. Go to Notifications.

4. Disable the switch buttons for the notifications that you don't want to receive.

Why am I not able to receive notifications?

If you're not getting any notifications from Coupled, you need to check the Notification settings. Ensure that all the notification switch buttons are enabled if you want to get Coupled notifications. To check if the notifications are all enabled, do the following steps.

1. Open the main menu button located on the top-left corner of the Home page.

2. Tap the Preferences option.

3. Go to Notifications.

4. Check if the notifications that you don't receive are enabled. Tap the switch to enable them.

Configure presence settings.

Presence settings will let you configure your Activity and Read Receipts. This setting will allow you to enable or disable your activity, allowing you to turn on or off your online visibility to your partner. You can also enable or disable the read receipts, which will let your partner see or not see if you've read their messages.

1. Open the main menu button located on the top-left corner of the Home page.

2. Tap the Preferences option.

3. Go to the Presence settings by taping it.

4. Enable or disable the settings by switching the buttons.

My partner always shows an offline status even when he's online.

The reason behind why your partner shows an offline status is that his presence activity settings have been disabled. You need to let your partner change the settings if you want to see his activity status. You can read more about the guide for Configuring presence settings by clicking the link.

Why all my chat messages are unread, even my partner already replied to them.

When your messages had been marked as unread, even your partner replied to them; it just means that your partner has been disabled the Read receipt setting. Disabling the Read receipt will let your partner not see if you've read their chat messages. Make sure to let your partner know so that they can change the setting on their side. To know more about Configuring Presence Settings, you can read them by taping this link: Configuring presence setting

Change an account's password.
  1. Tap the main menu button located on the top-left corner of the Coupled screen.
  2. Tap Account.
  3. Tap Change Password.
  4. On the password fields, enter your current password, new password, and confirm password.
  5. Tap the Update button.

Reset a forgotten password

You can reset your password if you have forgotten it and can't log in.

  1. Tap the Sign In button.
  2. On the Sign In page, tap the help button located in the bottom right.
  3. A password recovery box will appear. Enter the email address you signed up with.
  4. Tap the Send button. Coupled will send a password reset email to your email address. 
  5. Check your inbox and follow the included link to change your password.
  6. Input the new password and tap the Save button.
  7. Now you can sign in using your new password.

If you don't see the reset password email, check your spam or junk folders as your inbox might have sorted it there.

Note: If you enter an email address that does not exist in the system, Coupled will not send a reset email. For security reasons, Coupled will not inform you if the email address you entered exists or does not exist on the system.

How to confirm your email address?

Coupled automatically sent you a verification email when you signed up.

1. To verify your email, check your account inbox for the email verification sent by the Coupled system.

2. Open the link attached. It will open a verification success message stating that your email has been verified.

3. Open the Coupled app and tap the red-colored email verification button located at the bottom part of the home page. This action will verify your email on the app.

Note: If you didn't receive the verification email, ensure that you've entered the correct email address for your account. You can also check your spam and junk folders.

Resend email verification

If you didn't receive your email verification and ensure that you input the correct email address, you could resend it anytime. 

1. Tap the red-colored email verification button at the bottom of the Home page. 

2. Tap the Resend button. The Coupled System will send you the new email verification to the email address you are currently logged in to. 

3. Check your inbox or spam and junk box. Open the email verification and tap the link to verify your account.

4. Go back to the Coupled app and retap the red-colored verification button to verify your email address on the app.

Note: You can also go to the Account page, and tap Confirm email address to resend the verification email to your account.

Change email address

To change your account's email address, use the following steps.

1. Open the main menu button on the page's top-left corner.

2. Tap Account.

3. Tap the change email address option.

4. Type your current account password and your new email address.

5. Tap the Update button.

Data removal

Coupled collects anonymous data, like when your app crashes, that we use to improve the app across a wide array of devices. We also use your advertising identifier to serve your ads.

Disable anonymous usage data and personalized ads.

  1. Open the main menu in the top-left
  2. Tap Preferences.
  3. Tap Data Privacy.
  4. Disable Personalized ads and Anonymous usage data.

Delete your Coupled account.

  1. Open the main menu in the top-left.
  2. Look for the Account option and tap it.
  3. Tap the Delete Couple option.
  4. Confirm your action.
  5. Afterwards, sign into the app, and before connecting to a partner tap on the Delete Account.
  6. Enter your password and tap the Yes, Delete button.

Note: Doing this will delete your and your partner's data permanently.

Delete your device's data:

  1. Usually, you can simply uninstall Coupled from your Android or iOS device, which automatically clears app data.
  2. If you've enabled an app backup system inside your device's settings, you may need to manually clear your app data from Android or iOS.
